If you have kids in the house, putting together a burger is something that will hold you in good stead. It can be rustled up with minimum fuss and with a few French fries thrown in, it’s been a Godsend as an easy lockdown staple.
Don’t curl up your nose at the thought of a chicken burger. You are welcome to make one with meat. Just marinate the chicken well in advance.
Marinate this for a few hours.
Add a slightly beaten egg to this mixture.
Make patties.
Now to put it together, use whatever floats your boat.
I do however try and go for a soft sesame seed bun. It can elevate the feel and touch of a burger. Also, what does the trick is to have loads of softened caramelised onions, which you get by frying cut onions in oil, add a dash of castor or white powdered sugar, and let them brown. You’re coaxing the sugar flavour from your onions which git a lovely umami flavour. Love and patience is highly recommended.
Take a slob of butter, and brown the burger patties on a pan, that have been spliced open into two pieces.
Now assemble it together. If you want to melt the cheese, you can pop the burger patty to heat, and place the slice on the pan, it will quickly melt away.
